MILLEFIORI HONEY

 

Millefiori honeys are defined the ones deriving from a natural union of plants. It does not exist a sole kind of millefiori, but as many as all mixtures of plants. Every area produces therefore millefiori with different features. But it is not a minor quality honey respect to others, like it is believed. Millefiori honeys for their variety and difference, are a “floral mirror” of the territory from which they come , and characterize more than all honeys the area of their production. Oue millefiori honey has been rewarded with “ 2 golden drops” at the national competition for selection of the best honeys of national production “ Prize Giulio Piana” taking place every year in Castel San Pietro Terme. This honey has been produced at the foot of promontory of Gargano between Manfredonia and San Giovanni Rotondo. In this millefiori you can find predominance of ferula,asphodel and mallow's nectar.

 

Organoleptic characteristics:

Description : fine and pleasant crystallization

Colour : middly- coloured

DISTINCTIVE SCENT : aromatic, sweet and floral.

Taste: sweet, slightly bitter, non- perceivable bitter.
